Men's Basketball Ready to Face Manhattan in MAAC Quarterfinals

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The 11th-seeded Marist men's basketball team continues play in the 2015 MAAC Basketball Championships on Saturday, when the Red Foxes take on third-seeded Manhattan at the Times Union Center. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m., and the contest will be carried live on ESPN3.

Marist defeated sixth-seeded Quinnipiac in Thursday's opening round by a score of 80-74. Senior guard/forward Chavaughn Lewis (Queens, N.Y.) passed Steve Smith for first place in program history in scoring. Lewis led Marist in points (26), rebounds (11), steals (four), assists (four) and tied for the team lead in blocks (two).

Red-shirt sophomore guard Khallid Hart (Newark, Del.) scored 18 points and didn't miss from the field (7-for-7 field goals, 3-for-3 three-pointers). The Red Foxes set season highs in points scored, three-pointers made (13) and three-point percentage (.684, 13-for-19).

Marist was swept by Manhattan in the regular-season series. The Jaspers prevailed 60-38 in Riverdale on Dec. 7, and 67-54 in Poughkeepsie on Feb. 23.

Doug Sherman (play-by-play), Rob Kennedy (color) and Mitch Buonaguro (sideline) will have the call on ESPN3. Dean Darling (play-by-play) and Ed Weir (color) will have the call on WKIP, the Red Fox Network and iHeart Radio beginning at 7:45.
