GANNON, PA - Despite their best efforts the Crimson Hawks could not overcome the Golden Knights Friday night in Gannon.

IUP fell in just three sets - 25-26, 25-14, 25-12 - dropping their overall record to 9-17, 5-14 in the PSAC.  The three sets went quickly, with IUP scoring sparatically through Gannon's scoring drives.

Lisa Kissell (Greensburg, Pa. /Greensburg Salem) and Lily McWilliams (Rockville, Md./Thomas Sprigg Wootton) led the Crimson Hawks with four kills each, followed by Lauren Hester (State College, Pa. /State College) with three, Alexis Anderson (Cleveland, Ohio/Mayfield) with two, and Elizabeth Sova (Myerstown, Pa. /ELCO), Meghan Schneider (Lake Geneva, Wis. /Big Foot), Natalie Cignetti (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana), and Lindsay Moeller (Troy, Mich./Troy) with one each.  Moeller tallied seven assists, with Katie Miller (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) adding six.

Defensively for IUP, Joie Hrapla (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Bishop Canevin) recorded a total 12 digs.  Anderson added five, with Kissell, Miller and Moeller each providing four.

This was the Crimson Hawks' sixth consecutive loss this season.  Their most recent win came against Kutztown in the PSAC East/West Crossover held in Indiana, Pa. earlier in October.

IUP looks towards a trio of games to end their 2014 season.  Saturday, the team will travel to Mercyhurst for a 4:05 p.m. matchup with the Lakers.  The following Friday, Nov. 7, the Crimson Hawks will host Edinboro for their last home game of the season.  The next day, Saturday, Nov. 8, IUP will finish up their regular-season play on the road at Slippery Rock.
