This Week
North Dakota hits the road for a duel with the conference-leading Montana Grizzlies on Friday, Oct. 23, before returning home for the final time this season, hosting senior day on Sunday, Oct. 25, against Eastern Washington.

Last Time Out
UND wrapped its four-game home stand last weekend with a pair of defeats at the hands of Sacramento State and Portland State. North Dakota was blitzed in the second half, Oct. 17, by Sacramento State as the Hornets scored five goals to pull away and win the game 5-0. On Oct. 19, UND took the back-to-back-to-back Big Sky Conference regular-season champions to the brink as Portland State could only manage one goal past the strong UND defense. That was all the Vikings would need, as Portland State would hold on for a 1-0 victory.

About Montana
Montana enters the weekend 9-5-2 overall and 5-0-2 in Big Sky play. The Griz currently sit atop of the Big Sky standings holding a three-point lead over second place, Portland State. Montana will also carry a seven-game unbeaten streak into Friday's match. The Griz's last loss came in September vs. Hawaii. Montana will close out their home schedule with Northern Colorado, Sunday, following Friday's match with North Dakota.

Montana enters the weekend 4-1-0 at home this season and winners in its last three.

Opponent to watch: The Griz are led by leading scorer Hallie Widner. She has tallied 15 points on the season to rank third in the conference.

Versus the Griz
Friday's match will be the seventh all-time meeting between UND and Montana with the Griz owning a 5-1-0 record. Last season, Montana defeated UND 3-0 in Grand Forks. UND's win came in 2011 with a 2-1 win in Grand Forks.

About Eastern Washington
The Eagles enter the weekend 7-6-0 overall and 4-3-0 in Big Sky play. The Eagles currently sit in fourth place in the standings with a chance to climb as high as second. Eastern Washington carries a two-game winning streak into the weekend with a pair of wins over Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. The Eagles will host Northern Colorado, Friday, Oct. 17, before making the trip to Grand Forks, Sunday.

The Eagles are 5-3-0 on the road this season and winners of their last three.

Opponent to watch: The Eagles bring the conference-scoring leader into Grand Forks this weekend. Forward Chloe Williams leads the Eagles with 16 points and coming off a four-point road trip last weekend.

Versus the Eagles
Sunday's showdown will be the third meeting between UND and EWU with the series deadlocked at 1-1-0. The Eagles were victorious in Cheney, Wash. in 2012, but UND won its first Big Sky Conference game last year vs. Eastern in Grand Forks.

A Class Worth Mentioning
Sunday's match vs. Eastern Washington marks the final home game for UND in the 2014 season. UND will honor its two seniors, Kristi Hestdalen and Juliette Austin. These seniors were members of the inaugural Big Sky Conference team and helped UND win its first ever conference game vs. Eastern Washington. They also defeated North Dakota State, South Dakota State, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Northern Illinois, Chicago State, Minnesota-Crookston, Howard, Houston Baptist, and Delaware State in their careers.

Holy Moly, What a Goalie
Senior goalkeeper Kristi Hestdalen led the Big Sky in saves in 2013 and set a new UND single-season record with her 131 saves. She was also named as an honorable mention to the All-Big Sky Conference Team and is the all-time saves leader at UND with 464 career saves. Additionally, Kristi has played in 66 consecutive games, which places her fifth all-time in program history. She has also started in 63 total games in her career.

Currently, Hestdalen leads the Big Sky in saves (134) and saves per game (9.29). She is also seventh in the conference with a .793 save percentage. Hestdalen is also first in the NCAA in total saves (134) and second in saves per game (9.29).

The Sky is Getting Bigger
With the addition of Idaho, the Big Sky Conference now has 11 teams and the postseaon tournament has expanded from four to six teams.

Going the Distance
Freshman defender Emily Smithson played all 290 minutes of action from Sept. 12-19, and scored her first collegiate goal in that stretch against UNI on Sept. 14. She has also played all 90+ minutes of action for UND in all but four games.

Saving to the Top
Senior goalkeeper Kristi Hestdalen's 18 saves versus Creighton was a new UND single-game record for saves. The previous record of 16 was held by Ashley Salberg in 2002.

First of Many
Freshmen Austin Overson and Zoe Berlinquette scored their first collegiate goals at Chicago State. Those goals were also UND's first goals of the season.

Road Rage
UND's 3-0 win at Chicago State was its first road win under head coach Matt Kellogg. This was also UND's first road win since a 2-0 win at Northern Illinois in 2011.

Best of the Midwest
Senior goalkeeper Kristi Hestdalen was named to the 2014 Women's Premier Soccer League 2014 All Stars: Midwest-Central region team. The team consists of 21 student-athletes who were nominated by their respective team's head coach. Each WPSL team was given the opportunity to select at least one player for the All-Star teams. Kristi was joined by the University of Minnesota's Olivia Schultz as players chosen by the Minnesota Twinstars of the WPSL.
