MONROE, La. – First-year head softball coach Corey Lyon has unveiled the program's 2015 signing class after receiving National Letters of Intent from nine athletes.
“We are very excited about the 2015 recruting class,” said Lyon. “We are very happy to not only be able to address every positional need that we had, but also be able to add very talented players at each position.”
The incoming class consists of one Monroe native and eight out-of-state signees with six recruits joining the Warhawks from Texas.
The recruiting class includes Cheyenne Fults, Katlynn Kaminski, Sydney McKay, Victoria Pederson, Megan Shaw, Grace Srichantra, Rachel Tadlock, Casey Waterman and Brei Wrobel.
“We have address our needs in the circle by adding Casey Waterman and Katlynn Kaminski,” said Lyon. “Both Waterman and Kaminski can hit as well.”
Waterman and Kaminski are just two of the lethal players at the plate that signed with ULM.
“Rachel Tadlock, Brie Wrobel and Cheyenne Fults bring a great deal of power to the lineup,” said Lyon.
The signing class also brings added depth on defense for the Warhawks.
“Megan Shaw and Grace Srichantra bring toughness and give us some much needed depth on the infield,” said Lyon. “Sydney McKay and Victoria Pederson add incredible athleticism and speed to an already quick outfield.”
The nine signees plan to join ULM and the Warhawk softball program starting in the 2015-16 academic year.
“This if going to be a great group of young ladies to add into the mix,” said Lyon. “I am 100 percent sure that we are working towards something very special here at ULM.
