The Louisiana College men's soccer team got their third shutout in their last five matches, as they blanked the Centenary College Gents 1-0 in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night in Shreveport, LA.

Playing the same trademark defense that has become a staple for them this year, the Wildcats held Centenary scoreless throughout the match, while sophomore goal keeper Travis Alexander and freshman Nathan Gautreaux combined for the Wildcats' fourth shutout of the season.

Those four shutouts tied the 2012 and 2013 teams for the most in a single season.

Sophomore forward Pedro Silva continued to show why he is one of the ASC's top performers, as his goal in the 80th minute put the Wildcats over the top to record the 1-0 win.

LC outshot the Gents 18-9 during the match, with an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal.

The Wildcats (6-5-4 overall) will take on ETBU on Friday night at 8 p.m. in Marshall, TX. With the Wildcats and Tigers tied for 6th place in the ASC standings, Friday's match will go a long way towards determining one of the final spots in the 2014 ASC Tournament field of six.
