Tylock, Learn and Jones Named 2014 Cross Country Team Captains

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tylock, Learn and Jones Named 2014 Cross Country Team Captains
 
MANSFIELD – Mansfield head cross country coach Mike Rohl has announced that seniors Rachael Tylock and Susan Learn have been named team captains of the women's program while Jesse Jones has been selected team captain for the men's program.
 
"Rachael, Susan and Jesse were selected to lead the cross country teams because of their extraordinary loyalty to the program" explained Rohl. "All three have represented Mansfield at the highest level during their time here and have developed great leadership skills."
 
Tylock is a four-year member of the cross country team and specializes in race walking during the track and field season. She is a member of the U.S. National Race Walk team and finished 8th overall at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships in 2013. Tylock, a biology major, is a PSAC and MU Presidential Scholar-Athlete and an ADA Academic Achievement Award recipient.
 
Learn was a member of last season's historic cross country team that won the programs first PSAC team title in October. She finished 17th at the MU Flatland Invitational and 83rd at the Lock Haven Invitational in 2013. Learn majors in geography and is a PSAC and MU Presidential Scholar-Athlete.
 
Jones has turned in top 50 finishes at both the PSAC and NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships in each of his first two seasons with the Mountaineers. Last season, Jones finished 42nd at the conference meet to help Mansfield to a 10th place team finish. Jones is an environmental sciences major and an MU Presidential Scholar-Athlete.
