The next night, a strong offense led UCSD to a 3-1 victory at San Francisco State. The Tritons posted a season-high .297 attack percentage with 65 kills and just 13 errors in 175 attempts. They also had 11 team blocks, tying their second-highest total of the year. Dahle had a match co-high 18 kills while Colla notched another double-double with 14 kills and 18 digs. JOIN THE CLUB
Danielle Dahle is close to joining UCSD's 1,000 kills club. The junior outside currently has 920 put-aways and will become the ninth Triton in program history to reach the mark.

LUYTIES APPROACHING 100
UCSD head coach Ricci Luyties has amassed a 94-36 record over his four-plus seasons leading the Tritons. He will be the fourth coach in school history to record 100 or more wins (Doug Dannevik 448; Duncan McFarland 231; Tom Black 115).

THE NATIONAL
UCSD fell out of the national rankings for the first time this season in this week's AVCA national poll. The Tritons were 19th last week. Tampa retained the top position and is followed by Minnesota Duluth and Concordia-St. Paul. Cal State San Bernardino is No. 8, while UCSD, Sonoma State and Cal State L.A. received votes.

WHAT THE COACHES THINK
UCSD is expected to finish second in the 2014 CCAA standings according to the league's annual preseason coaches' poll. The Tritons totaled 109 points and garnered two first-place votes in the poll. Eight-time defending champion Cal State San Bernardino was first with 119 points and nine first-place votes.

MANY HAPPY RETURNERS
The Tritons return four starters from a 2013 squad that went 26-6 overall and qualified for NCAA postseason play for the eighth straight year. Leading the charge will be first team All-American outside hitter Danielle Dahle. She is joined by opposite Caitlin Brenton and setter Heidi Sierks, both all-region picks in 2013, as well as middle blocker Kameron Cooper, who started all 32 matches last year.

UCSD also welcomes back four other letterwinners including outside hitter/libero Makensie Bates, outside hitter/opposite Rachel Gam, setter Alyssa Lin and outside hitter/libero Katy Woodward.

HEAD COACH RICCI LUYTIES
UCSD head coach Ricci Luyties is in his fifth season leading the Tritons. Over his first four years with the program, Luyties amassed an 87-32 record. UCSD went 26-6 in 2013, tying a school record with nine straight victories to open the season. The 26 wins were the most for the team since 2009. Luyties came to La Jolla after six seasons as head coach at Southern Mississippi. As a player, the setter led UCLA to four consecutive national titles and a pair of undefeated seasons. Luyties and Team USA won gold medals at the 1988 Olympics and 1987 Pan American Games. He was also a standout beach player, competing regularly on the AVP Tour and FIVB World Tour.

ABOUT THE LUMBERJACKS
Humboldt State will be coming into Thursday's match with some momentum as the Lumberjacks upset No. 8 Cal State San Bernardino, 3-1, Wednesday night. It was the first win in 17 seasons for HSU over CSUSB and the 'Jacks fourth consecutive victory. Ashley Owen averages a team-high 3.50 points and 3.18 kills/set, Haley Biles averages 4.67 digs/set and Nicole Bewley is blocking .84 balls/set. Humboldt is hitting .238 to its opponents' .182.
