LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University women's tennis team lost to Philadelphia University 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon in Lawrenceville.

“We made too many unforced errors,” said head coach Doug Potkay.”

For Rider (0-3), senior Alison Noll (Monmouth Junction/South Brunswick) won in straight sets at first singles, 6-1, 4-1 (retired).

Noll teamed up with senior Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) for an 8-4 win at first doubles.

“All of the doubles matches were close,” Potkay added.  “Alison played well, winning both her singles and doubles match and Leonora (Paul) took her fifth singles match to a third set before losing the super-tiebreaker 13-11.”

The women return to the court on October 7 when the Broncs host Monmouth University in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match, beginning at 3pm.
