Women golfers take third at Cougar Invite

BENSON, Minn. - The Bethany women's golf team traveled out to west central Minnesota to take part in the Cougar Invite Thursday at the Benson Golf Club.

Four full teams and parts of three others competed as the Vikings turned in a third place performance. Concordia-Moorhead dominated the field shooting a team score of 353. Minn.-Morris shot 435 while Bethany compiled 478. Crown tallied 566. Martin Luther, North Central, and Valley City State did not have enough players to field a full team.

The top six finishers on Thursday all came from Concordia-Moorhead with Amy Mirault, Katie Nelson, and Tiffany Swanson finishing in a three-way tie at 88.

Allie Curtis was Bethany's top golfer carding a 101, good for 11th place. Caitlin Miller tied for 12th at 105 and Jenna Albrecht shot 118 to come in 17th place.

Bethany is next scheduled to compete Tuesday at the Mid-Country Bank Classic in Waconia, Minn.
